A classic if there ever was one in this modern world, the Arnage stands as a symbol of what Bentley once was, before the VW-based Continental came along. Bentley claims an unrivalled heritage thanks to a skill-set handed down through three generations working on the same site, and an ability to tailor cars to precise customer wishes. Every Arnage is built to order, and over half are further modified by Bentley's coachbuilding arm, Bentley Mulliner. Bentley also claims that the Arnage is the culmination of over 80 years continual experience of building Grand Touring Limousines. It is odd though that at least in the last decade, the Arnage, in R, T and RL trims, has remained largely untouched, except for a minor facelift. Bentley also likes to brag about one regular customer, who said that determining the specification of an Arnage is like having your own private car company. An exclusive club for sure, but we have to wonder what they pay for.
The impressive 6.8-litre turbo V8 engines are massive and yet they are easily surpassed in power and economy by, of all people, the Americans.
Changes in 2007 included a switch from the old 4-speed automatic to a new
6-speed auto, as well as a bump-up in power due to new Mitsubishi turbochargers. The higher-tuned engine is reserved for the sportier T model

Bentley Azure / Brooklands
The Bentley line is headed by these land-yachts. Called the
Azure in convertible form, and the Brooklands in coupe form, the design of the
four-seat shares its face as well as its 6.8-litre turbo V8 with the Arnage sedan. However, the limited-to-550-pieces Brooklands gets a higher-tuned version of the standard engine that beats in the Azure. The cabin and rear section of the car are a new design and the
interior is crammed with every common luxury cue that defines a Bentley. The Azure
and the Brooklands are highlighted by a new laser-cut matrix
grille that evokes the large sporting Bentleys that had won the 24 hours of Le
Mans five times between 1924 and 1930. Bentley is now a
subsidiary of Volkswagen AG. The spacious handcrafted interior features the highest level of leather and wood trim,
individually tailored to the taste of each owner. The complex folding roof on
the convertible is operated hydraulically at the touch of a switch and the
three-layer fabric assembly stows beneath the leather-trimmed tonneau cover in
less than 30 seconds. Safety features in this classic include multiple airbags
and the usual electronic nannies found in any modern car. though the platform
remains a remnant from the last century.

Bentley Continental Flying Spur
The new Continental Flying Spur is the four-door sedan version of the Continental GT Coupe. Taking its name from a 1957 Bentley model, the Flying Spur is powered by a 6.0-litre W12 powerplant shared with the Continental GT, and mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shift controls, getting the horsepower to the ground via an all-wheel-drive system. The Flying Spur was designed and developed in parallel with the Continental GT, using the same platform as the VW Phaeton, and shares many of the coupe's components, including its braking system and styling cues. The Flying Spur can be ordered as a five-seater, or optionally as a four-seater with a centre console between two power-adjustable rear seats. Appointments include leather upholstery made from the laser-cut hides of eleven cows, according to Bentley, and burr walnut premium veneer, power-latching doors, 16-way power adjustable massaging front seats, four-zone climate control, LED mood lighting, navigation system, six-CD audio system, telephone integration system and 19-inch alloy wheels. It may be a little Bentley, but it is still a very large sedan.

Bentley Continental GT / GTC
The Continental GT is the first new model to come out of the Bentley since it separated from Rolls-Royce under VW ownership. The Continental is smaller and less expensive than any past Bentley, but it still remains out of reach for pretty much anyone who doesn't have a seven-figure bank account. It is also their first model ever to feature all-wheel drive, which is no surprise, since it uses the same platform as the ill-received VW Phaeton. However, this Bentley does not skimp on luxury, with a handcrafted wood and leather interior, complete with all the requisite gadgets such as navigation and a killer stereo. Instrumentation is provided by classic dials that live in deep recesses ahead of the steering wheel, while a small screen directly in the driver's line of sight monitors all relevant in-car systems. The two-door Continental coupe is equipped with the full suite of passive safety equipment, including two front airbags, four side airbags and two side curtain bags. And this car can even be had without the top, in the form of the GTC convertible. And the GT Speed
coupe for 2008 adds more power,
reduced weight and an aluminium cabin trim package.
