2006 Ford Ride & Drive

The Ford Ride & Drive event was held in Dubai exclusively for the media, in a bid to highlight the off-road capabilities of Ford's line of 4WD vehicles. Held in early December a day after rains, the line-up on test included the Explorer, the F-150, the Escape, the Ranger and the new Expedition. The underrated vehicles proved to be surprisingly capable on the loose stuff, holding up perfectly over large dunes and spine-jarring gravel. Events included a gravel run, a dune run, a demonstration on a pre-determined course, and a time trial on a defined sand track. And to reiterate, the vehicles did amazingly well...
