The Acadia is GMC's first crossover wagon that combines car-like handling with the utility of a 4WD wagon, offering three rows of seating for up to eight passengers. The design consists of polished aluminium roof rails, projector beam headlights, LED taillights and a rear spoiler. The Acadia is powered by a new 3.6-litre V6 with variable valve timing, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and an optional all-wheel-drive system with no low range. The interior features a "low and away" instrument panel and a Smart Slide second-row feature allows easier access to the third row. Features include power windows, CD/MP3 stereo with six speakers, electric mirrors, keyless entry and more. Optional features include rear-seat DVD entertainment, HID headlights, sunroof, parking sensors, leather seats, tri-zone climate control and more. Standard safety features includes StabiliTrak stability control system with rollover mitigation technology, six airbags and a tyre-pressure-monitoring system. Also standard is power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, 18-inch wheels with optional 19-inchers, and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS.
Off-road ability, some cheap bits, front-driver GMC?
GMC Envoy
The Envoy is powerful and capable midsize off-road vehicle, which is just the right size to not be a pain on the roads. It has a rigid chassis, good off-road suspension, powerful brakes and a spacious enough interior to compete in this class. It is stable at high speeds, wobbly around curves, and comfortable over rough surfaces, while being quite capable off-road, thanks to a proper four-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing. The Envoy also comes in an XL trim with an extended wheelbase that adds a third row seat. The Envoy comes with a Vortec 4.2-litre inline six-cylinder engine that generates very respectable numbers, similar to the V8 motors of some competitors. And then there is 5.3-litre V8 engine that can be had as an option only on the EXT. The V8 is equipped with GM's Displacement on Demand technology as standard which deactivates four cylinders under certain driving conditions to aid fuel efficiency, returning the full complement of power once the controller senses vehicle speed or load requires additional power. Both engines use a Hydra-Matic four-speed auto transmission. The Denali version adds chrome trim and some luxury interior features.

GMC Sierra 1500
The Sierra range is GMC's line of full-size pickup trucks, and covers everything from passenger pickups to big honking diesel monsters with six wheels and more. The Sierra 1500 pickup is the identical twin of the second-best selling truck in the United States, namely the Chevy Silverado. The Sierra 1500 light pickup version is about the only vehicle that you can drive from this range without offending everyone around you with your show of excess, while the Sierra 1500 HD trucks should best be used if you work at a place that requires regular hauling. The Sierra is available in three cab lengths, 2-door short cab, 3 or 4-door extended cab, and front-hinged 4-door crew cab. Three cargo beds are available, including a short box, a standard box, and a long box. The short box is only available with the extended or crew cab, and is the only option on the 4-door. Engines include a 4.3-litre V6, a 4.8-litre V8 and a 5.3-litre V8, all with 4-speed automatics. All versions come in either rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive form. Safety features include at least front airbags and ABS brakes, among other options.

GMC Terrain
The first ever GMC-badged compact 4WD isn't even a real GMC. The Terrain is a Korean product sold in Europe as an Opel and in America as a Saturn. However, it does complete the local range, giving GMC dealers their very own small soft-roader. The Terrain is available in SLE and SLT trims, while available engines include a 2.4-litre 4-cylinder and a 3.2-litre V6, both with a standard 5-speed automatic transmission offering rudimentary manual shift capability. All-wheel-drive is standard, but there no low-range gearing. Unlike its longer Chevy cousin, the Captiva-based Terrain seats five and does not offer third-row seating. However, the rear seat folds flat to extend the cargo area. Active and passive safety systems include stability control, hill descent control and active rollover protection, as well as dual-stage front and side-impact airbags, as well as head-curtain airbags. Standard features include power windows, electric mirrors, CD player, keyless entry, alloy wheels and more.
GM went all out on the redesign of this full-size hauler even though petrol prices are at an all-time high. The Yukon gets many upgrades, including a new platform and a better quality interior. A beefy new Vortec 5.3-litre V8 powers the Yukon, with better fuel economy to boot. The aging Hydra-Matic 4L60-E four-speed automatic transmission transfers power to the ground, either through the rear wheels or through all four wheels when 4WD is engaged. Features include power windows, electric mirrors and additional power equipment, along with a folding third-row seat. Power-adjustable brake and accelerator pedals are standard on the higher models and optional on the base versions. New features also include power folding rear seats, among other things. On the road, Yukon is smooth and stable in a straight line, hopeless in the corners and strong off the road. The Yukon XL is the long-wheelbase GMC version of the Suburban, and offers more room in the back. Rear passengers can enjoy an optional package that includes a DVD system with flip-down seven-inch colour monitor, six-disc in-dash audio player and Bose speakers. The Denali version adds a 6.2-litre V8, chrome trim and some luxury interior features, but loses off-road gearing.
