Are there any further news on the standard Lancer debut in UAE?

It is May and I do not see it coming

  11. by Mashfique Hussain Chowdhury, on May 18 2007 @ 9:56 am

Around here, uncertainty is the only certain thing. The Lancer launch could happen at any time without warning.

Ok, but are U 100% sure new lancer will be in UAE this year or shall it be next year

How can I find out? Crappy dealer for sure will not tell

  13. by Mashfique Hussain Chowdhury, on May 19 2007 @ 7:14 pm

It will come, maan. Don’t worry!

dude I called the dealer (al habtoor motors cough cough) and the people working there are monkeys. They don’t know anything about the release date of the 2008 lancer (lancer GTS specifically) and they are unwilling to help. They were annoyed that I called to ask.

I am in the market for a new car. I WANT the Lancer GTS, but I am not willing to wait til October which is when the dealer salesperson said the “new models may be out.”

In fact, the salesperson told me to call in September to find out if the Lancer will be released in October or not… yeah… that helps me a LOT buddy.

Anybody with any info on the 2008 Lancer UAE release please post!

Thanks for the update. I heard the May release date six months ago. I guess they pushed it back. As I said, the only certainty around here is uncertainty.

I read that the new lancer will be released in “Japan and other markets” 6 months after the US release. The US release was in March I think - which makes it safe to assume an aug/sep/oct release, that is IF they decide to release the GTS trim.

unfortunately in the UAE, people who buy compact cars are simply looking for the absolute base vehicles (typical white nissan sunny) - hence, for example, we get mazda 3s with only the 1.6 liter engine option. I am not too optimistic that there is sufficient market demand for the GTS that they will release it here.

VERY nice! I love it. Hopefully, we should see the 2008 models here in Jamaica very soon.
