The all-new redesigned 2008 Mazda 6 will debut in Europe first, at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. Seen here is a teaser photo released by Mazda. Based on the new Ford Mondeo, which incidentally hasn’t been released here either, it is expected to feature similar engine choices to the Ford, including a 3.5-litre V6. Read more… »

saab-9-7x-aero.jpg

The Saab 9-7X is considered somewhat of a flop. Simply a dressed-up Chevy Trailblazer, consumers never took to the awfully high price. The new limited edition 9-7X Aero is an attempt to make it more capable at chasing X5s and Cayennes, with a Corvette engine. Read more… »

vw-jetta.jpg

We have been asking for an Eos or a Jetta for a month now, getting a date from VW and then getting postponed from their side again and again. Now, we don’t even mind being on a waiting list with a confirmed date in February 2012, but after numerous follow-ups by us, we were told by VW that there are preferences on who gets these cars for a test. This is an indirect hint that namely “established” magazines will drive the car before us. Even that “other” auto site drove these cars ages ago. We’ve decided to not follow up any more, but if any of our readers really want us to review a VW, let us know via the contact form. Read more… »

This video just proves that you can never be too young to start driving recklessly. All those snooty corporate-sponsored safety campaigns are such a waste of money.

bmw-x5-off-road.jpg

We often show our distaste for 4WDs that are not really equipped to go offroad. But when BMW released selective footage of their prototype X5 bashing dunes using its fancy-pants XDrive all-wheel-drive system, we figured we’d give it a go too. But to be cautious, we stayed near pavement if anything should happen. Read more… »

2008-bmw-x5-nissan-murano.jpg

We picked up a 2008 Nissan Murano for only a two-day test, and apparently we are the first ones to drive this new press vehicle. Now admittedly nothing has changed over the 2007 or even earlier models (that we can see), but props to Nissan for not stuffing us at the bottom of any waiting list. And we still have our pimpin’ BMW X5, which we get to keep for four whole days. Read more… »

2008 bmw x5

I always had many unkind words for the previous the BMW X5. It is driven by overspeeding yuppies, cannot go off-road and did not have a reason to exist. But for some reason, I was anticipating the delivery of the new X5 at my parking lot. There is something to be said about about a big 4WD that can outrun most “normal” cars on the road. And I just had to see the gadgetry that was advertised in the press releases. Read more… »
