well, it will always happen. not sure about merc but BMW clearly has some influence on other make’s designs. look at the cargo lid of camry and compare that to the previous generation 7 series’. Toyota seems to be trying to compete with BMW in designs but end up with awkward, uninspiring designs. and its not just toyota.

Well done
BMW like Mercedes are always ahead of its time.
The previous 5 series was stunning when it first hits the roads; this new one will be no exception.

In 2-3 years we will see many other manufacturers copying the design features and technology of these new cars from Mercedes and BMW

For the people who don’t like these photos; just waut few months and it will grow on you.

For those who can afford it… lucky bast..

So u all r saying that the previous 5 series with those funny headlamps was good looking.. Sure the previous 5 was a new shape at its time like never before seen on a BMW but it looks funny.. and this new one rebalanced the looks of a BMW..

No..no..no..

Call me a senseless embicile..
but..
Ugly, silly and ugly..

They’ve gone and extended the bonnet, drooped it downwards and gave it a pronounced philtrum to make it look like a camel’s forehead again.. or a Z3..

It seems like it only needs 2-doors..
And would make a nice coupe GT model..

I actually liked the stockiness of the previous model..
It kind of grew on me..

But then again..
What do I know about BMW’s?..

even if I’ve got one..
