Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2012 facelift revealed

The 2012 Mercedes Benz C-Class has been revealed with a new four-cylinder engine added to the range. The new models will have a minor facelift and the interior is upgraded as well. Performance-wise it offers more power and better fuel economy than its predecessor.

The front end gets minor changes such as a redesigned bumper featuring day-time running LEDs.  The hood is now completely made of aluminium for weight reduction purposes. Add to that the new 7-speed automatic transmission and direct-injection engines, the fuel economy has improved.

Along with fuel efficiency, it gets more juice, with the C350 3.5-litre V6 engine getting a boost of 34 hp to 302 hp and torque increasing to 370 Nm. The new turbocharged 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine offered in the C250 will have 201 hp and the C300 gets a 3.0-litre V6 engine producing about 228 hp. The C180 will get a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder, good for 154 hp.

The interior has been upgraded with more premium materials and five new safety features have been added. This includes Attention Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Parktronic and Blind Spot Assist.

The 2012 C-Class is said to go on sale next summer in the United States. The C-Class is not as common on the roads of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with people favouring the bigger E-Class and S-Class models. It should arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries at around the same time.

  1. decent touch ups but nice effect i think

good now for another 2 years like this

  2. The wheel design is outdated

  3. I think the C-Class required this facelift long time ago. It was one of the ugliest sedans from Mercedes, and actually still. The front end is very ugly, and the rear end does not give it any presence in the roads.

I am not a big fan of the interior eather. They have copied the BMW iDrive system, and they still have some bits from my old 1987 E300 sedan that I sold long time a go, espicially the AC air vents. I think they should make the interior more smooth and more “EMOTiONAL”.

  4. Hey Mash I think you made a typo. “Adaptive Highbean Assist”? 🙂

  5. Invented by Mr.BEAN????? 😛

  6. ^Yep, it was.

    ^^Haha! My bad!

  8. abdullah you are 100% right
even e class still have some bits from the 1987 model, mercedes needs to work a little bit on the interior platform and give it much more luxury.

why mercedes is to bad making small cars? look at the glk, a class, c class and b class, they have no presence on road as the m class, the s class and e class come on
look at the koreans, very original shapes,( 2011 sonata and azera) kia cerato coupe

^I believe its about identity. When you look at a merc, you know its a merc, however old or new the model. Unfortunately for the Koreans, there design changes are so drastic everytime, no one can tell which brand it is unless you closely follow their car market.

  10. i just bought one 😀
