2013 Chevrolet Malibu to be redesigned due to poor sales

The all-new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu has been suffering from slow sales and poor media reviews in its U.S. home market, so much so that General Motors is apparently preparing an “emergency” redesign for next year. We are not allowed to review the car, so we wouldn’t know.

According to Automotive News, Chevrolet is working on refreshing the Malibu by the end of 2013, even though it was just launched earlier this year. While it has been heavily promoted in advertising as having “Camaro-inspired” styling, consumers apparently don’t agree as Malibu sales dropped after the redesign that completely replaced the competent old model.

The Malibu also came last out of six cars in a midsize-sedan comparo by the U.S. Car And Driver magazine.

The GCC-spec 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is built in Korea, and comes with 2.4-litre and 3.0-litre engine options.

  1. it was poor from start, but the new design should hopefully look better 🙂

  2. It’s not the design that will keep me from buying this. It’s the cause the Taurus has so much more to offer.

  3. I bought malibu LTZ lately the car is very stable on the road and the interior is so nice ,but the problem that there is only 2.4 engine in UAE and its slower than the compatators i think and faster than the camry, and it has a shaking problem u feel it while u park
and the agent for chevy here in uae they are rubbish

    • I have similar problem of shaky engine on parking spaces especially with steering wheel maximum all the way either to the right or lift , also engine shut off as getting into a raised parking space with a slop while maximum steering and lifting my leg of the gas padel as I want to stop the car it cut off.
The dealer does not seem to know where is the problem

  4. Guys ,
Can anyone throw some light on this shaking problem when parking, I have experience it and scrapped my car a couple of times trying to correct this.

Its like when I am trying to park (either ways) suddenly it feels like the wheels are disconnected from the steering .This has happened a couple of times and I havent bothered informing the dealer as it would be a waste of time. That said everyt time this occurs I look for oil or grease on the ground ,but there is nothing of that sort.

Please help!! I am beginning to suspect my tyres or is it my brakes?
