Bentley has unveiled the covers off the 2014 Flying Spur, which is set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. It has an all-new design, lower and wider than the previous generation, with arched front and rear fenders. Bentley claims it will be the “fastest, most powerful four-door model” it has ever produced.

Underneath the hood is the 6.0-litre W12 engine which produces 625 hp and 800 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This enables it to reach 0-100 kph in a claimed 4.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 322 kph. Fuel economy is rated at a combined 14.7 l/100 km.

The redesigned structure has also been made more rigid with reinforced sections. Torsional stiffness also increases by 4%, as the new model is lighter by 50 kg, with the hood and front fenders made of aluminium, and the boot lid having polymer composite components. New exterior design features include LED-infused headlamps, new front fenders and front grille, and a choice of different alloy wheels, ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

Inside, the interior has been completely reworked with only few elements such as the sun visors, grab handles, armrests and some of the front console controls carried over from the previous model. It gets softer leather seats and an updated infotainment system connected to an 8-inch screen. Options include Wi-Fi connectivity, a 64 GB hard drive, wireless headphones and two 10-inch displays for the rear passengers. There is also the Mulliner version which adds diamond quilted seats, a leather headliner, alloy pedals, a knurled gear lever, a jewel filler cap and 21-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.

Expect the new 2014 Bentley Flying Spur to arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries by the end of the year.
