2014 Toyota Corolla
The latest iteration of the best-selling car in the world, the Toyota Corolla, has been revealed, at least in American-spec form.

The Toyota Corolla was last redesigned in 2008, so it is odd that it took this long for a new model to come along, considering the compact sedan generally has a 4-year lifecycle, and there are already new versions of the Camry and Avalon. However, instead of just a reskin like the others, the 2014 Corolla is completely new from the ground up, riding on a new platform with a 100 mm longer wheelbase, 99 mm longer overall length, and a few bits of new tech, although nowhere near what we expected.

For the U.S. market, there are two available 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engines, one with 132 hp and 173 Nm of torque, and another more-efficient “Valvematic” version that offers 140 hp and 171 Nm of torque. Neither are particularly impressive in terms of output, but they offer selectable “Eco” and “Sport” modes.

With better fuel economy being the focus, the main transmission choice is now a CVT automatic. However, the base model still gets a 4-speed automatic, while a potential sporty model gets an optional 6-speed manual. The new model weighs in at less than 1300 kg by using high-strength steel in places.

Expect the all-new 2014 Corolla to reach UAE, KSA, Oman and other GCC markets by the end of this year, possibly with further smaller engine choices and different tech specs.

Keep track of future updates in the Toyota Corolla buyer guide.

  1. Chinese cars have better exterior design than this thing!

  2. Liked the Corolla S & LE’s front design, but rear is not good enough. It may cause the fall of its marketing. Head & tail lights are not that interesting. Looks like the copy of Honda City.

  3. Great, CVT again. Should have used a 6-speed auto instead.

  4. first pic looked like a Hyundai Accent from the front.. who’s copying who? lol
Looks decent…but they have to try harder to get back their lost customers!!!

  5. also the interior looks ugly too

  6. Cool. it’s better than the existing one man.
You guys are probably measuring it based on other cars, but overall it’s good 🙂

  7. I think interior seems good and practical. Powertrains are not up to buyers taste it should be 6 speed auto & 1.8L or 2.0L direct injection engines. Exterior build will not worried competitors its good for fleet purpose.

  8. It will sell like hot cakes. A modern Corolla is what everybody wants in this market. The tail lamps are the same as new lexus ES, looks good to me. An overall masive improvement, however the 4 speed automatic for the base trim is not that great. 5 speed autos should be minimum in this century.

  9. junior avalon…:D

  10. exterior is just ok, interior is fantastic

  11. At first glance, the lights did look futuristic, but a moment later, the overall car looks disposable. God save those who may have to bear the sight of it for years.

  12. Now I understand why the Impreza looks guy too..

  13. Cannot see any impressive upgrade other than cosmetic changes. The 1.8 engine produces only 132 HP? And 4 speed auto? These are outdated.

  14. looks quiet scion-ish

  15. Car is a typical eco car with the full focus on fuel economy, cheap maintainenace, longer durability & low cost price. Hence dont expect it to be a luxurious one… 4 that there is other models such as avalon or the camry or the 4×4 segement.

  16. Toyota is proving every day
That they are the worst Japanese producer !!

  17. Its new generation car now all auto companies have same like that shapes and peoples like new styles. Corolla is best car ever….

  18. corolla has really come a long way , but this gives al futtaim another reason to rip us off, first thy will introduce a very basic & cheap model, then charge a whooping top up price for every upgrade. is there some other dealer we can approach? in the US the basic model is what u get here in the GCC as option 3

  19. life very less exterior ugly interior ok

  20. Great look. The interior could have been improved further. The current 1.6L-1.8L is outdated. Toyota should come up with a stronger, at least 2.0L, car.

  21. Interior and exterior looks good in 2014 corolla and it look like sports car when compared to 2013 model,in my point of view 2014 corolla is good.

  22. Toyota car is very special cars in world.

  23. According to my opinion, model 2013 looks better design than this. but overall, toyota is toyota especially corolla. It is designed to be economical and good in after sale services.

it is a good investment and has its resell value all the time.

  24. Chinese is not behter than japanes

  25. its a great car according to generation its interior and exteror both are too much batter and its comfortable and fully luxary.

  26. Which version of toyota corolla will be available for Saudi Arabia…?? The Eurpean one or the US one..??

  27. The European one

  28. TOYOTA COROLLA 2014 IS THE BEST FOR FAMILY AND FOR EVERY ONE.

  29. What time available this car

  30. Toyota Corolla ’14 will be launched on December 05 2013 in Saudi Arabia
