2014 Land Rover LR4 revealed at Frankfurt

2014 Land Rover Discovery LR4
Land Rover recently revealed the new LR4 to the public eye at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Few minor changes have been made to the exterior and interior to make it more “current”. It is one of Land Rover’s best selling models so they went with the “if it ain’t broke, why fix it?” philosophy.

The 2014 Land Rover LR4 gets a new front grille, bumper, headlights and new daytime running headlamps. New alloy wheel designs are now offered. Also for the first time ever, the “Land Rover” written across the front fascia has been replaced with “Discovery”.

Inside, new range of features for the 2014 Discovery include Wade Sensing, Blind Spot Monitoring, Closing Vehicle Sensing, Reverse Traffic Detection and T-junction Cameras.

Like other Range Rover models, it will be available with Meridian premium audio. The standard system features 8 speakers and 380 Watts of power, while the Meridian Surround system produces 825 Watts output and features 17 speakers.

The 5.0-litre V8 engine is replaced with the more fuel-efficient 3.0-litre V6 supercharged unit and Stop-Start technology is introduced on all petrol engines. All models are equipped with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

The new V6 generates 335 hp and 450 Nm of torque to deliver 0-100 kph times of around 8 seconds and a top speed 195 kph.

Expect the 2014 Land Rover LR4 to hit the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries before the end of the year.
