It’s pretty normal to see car manufacturers unveil one-off concepts to grab the attention of media and viewers at auto shows. And the Initiale Paris Concept is surely Renault’s attempt at it. We’ve got to say, it is a pretty nice addition to Renault’s lineup of concepts, and we wouldn’t mind if it came into production anytime soon.

Still, the Renault Initiale Paris Concept was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show a few weeks back. It is clearly aimed to compete in the MPV segment. But design-wise the Initiale Paris promises to stand out with its sculpted exterior. It will also ride on 17-inch or optional 22-inch alloys.

The MPV will also surely attract more than just the average buyer, as it is scheduled to come with 32 Bose speakers. They also speak of a dCi 130 engine with torque figures touching 400 Nm. So we’re assuming the engine will be a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder twin-turbo. But they do confirm that the engine will be coupled with a 6-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic transmission. The Initiale Paris concept according to Renault has roughly the same dimensions as a Grand Espace but sheds some 250 kg.

We hope the production version of the Initiale Paris will carry a lot of the features such as the aluminium and plexiglass roof through. A bigger engine wouldn’t hurt much either. We’ll keep you posted on any further news on the Renault Initiale Paris Concept.
