Fiat Freemont goes all mafia with Black Code

As opposed to what the badge up front says, the Fiat Freemont is no Italian. Basically, it’s just a Mexican built Dodge Journey with a mafia attire, courtesy of the ‘Black Code’ pack. The Fiat Freemont Black Code was revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The entire Freemont range comprises of 4 trim levels, namely- Freemont, Urban, Lounge and Black Code. The Black Code is equipped with a 2.0-litre MultiJet II 170 hp engine, with front-wheel drive and a 6-speed  manual gearbox or all-wheel drive and automatic transmission. There’s also an all-wheel drive 3.6-litre 280 hp petrol engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The pack adds an exclusive design which offers a new glossy black detailing on the front grille, the mirror fairings and on the 19-inch alloys. Furthermore, there’s more black in the front headlight frames, which somehow makes it more “emo” than “mafia” to be honest.

The interior treats the driver and passengers with features such as automatic three-zone climate control system, cruise control, leather upholstery and heated seats, as well as keyless entry/go system, rear parking sensors and electrically folding rear-view mirrors. Apart from that, there’s an 8.4-inch touchscreen satellite navigation system cum DVD player with Bluetooth connection, rear-parking camera and a 6 speaker premium sound system.

The GCC market hasn’t seen the Fiat Freemont yet, so it would only be right to assume that the Freemont isn’t going to make it to the Middle East soil, at-least for now.
