2014 Ford Fusion and Ecosport launched at Dubai Motor Show

2014 Ford Fusion
The 2014 Ford Fusion has finally been officially launched in the GCC, at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show. Also making its UAE debut is the Ford Ecosport, alongside the Ford Atlas Concept truck and the carryover 2014 Ford line-up.

2014 Ford Fusion 4

The 2014 Ford Fusion is available with a 175 hp 2.5-litre 4-cylinder at launch, mated to a 6-speed automatic and front-wheel-drive. Prices are expected to start at around Dhs 85,000. Later on, a Ford Fusion Ecoboost model will join the line-up, with a 231 hp 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder that will retail for Dhs 140,000 in top trim.

2014 Ford Ecosport

The 2014 Ford Ecosport comes from India with a 112 hp 1.5-litre 4-cylinder, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, both with front-wheel-drive. There will be three trim levels, and the basic manual can be had for as low as Dhs 58,000, topping out at Dhs 80,000 for the automatic Titanium trim.

We drove both these cars at the prototype stage, during Ford’s hot-weather testing in the UAE.

2014 Ford Atlas Concept

The Ford Atlas Concept is a design study based on the next-generation Ford F-150 pickup truck, and several of the concept’s styling cues and features, inside and out, will make it to the production model, from what we could gather in a chat with Ford engineers.

  1. the fusion looks like a big fiesta. they should have released the mid sized sedan before the sub compact.

  2. prices for fusion are insanely high with base starting from 90k all the way to 110k for SEL…

  3. No offence to anyone, but the indian versions of cars are quite ugly.

    • It’s a global model as per the “One Ford ” global product strategy…..the design usually never has anything to do with the country of manufacture except it helps involves in keeping costs low due to several factors of localization

  4. @vivek, i checked with the promoter on ford stand, as per him starting is 90K and SEL will be 110, later on they will add an eco-boost model which would obviously be more pricey option

    • Well, in that case, we can reach the conclusion that they themselves do not have a fair idea about the pricing part. Because even I asked one of the promoters on the Ford stand about the prices. The car which was there on the floor, the white one, retails for 135k, according to the promoter who assisted me. Although I always had a doubt that she was wrong.

  5. Ford ecosport rate is too much . Full option car we can give 50000 sr ok.

  6. 135k for fusion? its way too high for this segment, it seems ford people have become overconfident with their products if this is going to be the price for fusion, u can get a lot more better option with that amount….better to check with dealer to get exact pricing since the promoter told me that they have started taking the booking and will start delivery in March

  7. @Haroon i have checked with Ford sales representative the base model for ecosport is for 60k and mid option is for 65k plus few additional discounts if i book the car before 31st december

  8. please tell me the price of ecosport….
