Bentley Grand Convertible Concept hints at new Azure

Bentley Grand Convertible concept
Bentley has unveiled a rather familiar faced concept this week in time for the 2014 LA Auto Show. It’s called the Grand Convertible, and it’s also the most likely candidate to fit into the shoes of the much loved Azure.

In any case, Bentley states that their latest iteration of what’s basically just a topless Mulsanne is the “most sophisticated open-top car ever created by Bentley.” Well, from what we can see, the exterior features a swanky silver “liquid metal” finish to the bonnet and windscreen frame.

The “sophistication” however, is carried into the insides too with exclusive diamond quilted leather seats, Sequin Blue accent stitching and plenty of wood to upset your average environmentalist. The car also carries a Burr Walnut tonneau cover with the “largest piece of wood veneer ever applied to a Bentley.”

As for the engine, the new Grand Convertible will be powered by a 6.75-litre V8 that develops a hefty 530 hp and a nonsensical 1,100 Nm of torque. We assume it could power your average yacht!

The Grand Convertible is still in concept phase, but Bentley states that they will be pushing the car for production if all goes well. Expect more details to roll in following its anticipated debut at the LA Auto Show later this week.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the UAE, Saudi Arabia & GCC in the Bentley buyer guide.
