2016 Range Rover SVAutobiography

The latest Land Rover has been dubbed as the “most powerful and luxurious” SUV from the company, the Range Rover SVAutobiography, which was unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show.

As expected, there are tons of exclusives on the SVAutobiography in comparison to the average Range Rover. For instance, it features a Graphite Atlas/polished chrome grille with newly designed “Range Rover” lettering on the hood. Furthermore, there’s a new four-tailpipe exhaust system and an exclusive dual-tone exterior, which can be had in a Santorini Black upper body and a colour of your choice subsequently. There’s also the new “SVAutobiography” badging on the tailgate so that you don’t go unnoticed.

As mentioned above, the Range Rover SVAutobiography will be the most powerful SUV that Land Rover will produce. However, customers will be given a choice of three engines; a V6 Hybrid, V8 and ultimately a re-tuned supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine that has been powering the Range Rover Sport SVR. Power figures for the supercharged motor stand at 542 hp and 680 Nm of torque. This should enable the SVAutobiography to hit 100 kph in about 5.5 seconds, before maxing out at 225 kph. The SUV also rides on 22-inch Dunlop QuattroMaxx performance tires.

The interior too has been revamped with the addition of solid aluminium pedals, splashes of wood on the trim and newly designed switchgear which has been machined from solid aluminium and features knurled details which are carried all the way to the front and rear consoles. The rear also gets a refrigerator and powered deployable tables to pamper the passengers in addition to the reclining seats. And just in case you wondered, yes, there’s coat hooks finished in aluminium and also “deep twist pile mohair” floor mats for that added touch.

The SVAutobiography can also be had with options such as an exclusive sliding load floor which is finished in aluminium and veneer wood.  There’s also an “Event Seating” package which includes two Windsor leather seats which can be mounted to the rear tailgate when folded down.

The new Range Rover SVAutobiography is expected to hit showrooms in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the rest of GCC by mid-2015.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the Land Rover Range Rover buyer guide.
