2016 Chevrolet Corvette revealed with minor updates

Chevrolet has revealed details for the 2016 Corvette. The main offering will be three new design packages which will offered for both the convertible and coupe models.

Additional features now available on the 2016 Corvettes include new shades of yellow and red colours, new standard alloy wheel designs which can be had in silver, black, machined or chrome. There is the carbon flash badge option which deletes the chrome bar on the front grille and optional carbon fibre hood. For the interior there is a new flat-bottom steering wheel and two-tone seat upholstery in either red or gray, offered in leather or sueded microfibre. Magnetic Ride Control is now available on Stingray models without the Z51 package.

Looking at the design packages on offer, there is the Twilight Blue Package which is Offered in Shark Grey, Blade Silver, Arctic White or Night Race Blue exterior colors. The convertibles feature a blue top and grey accent vents. There is also an optional tri-colour stripe package. Customers can opt for either black or grey brake calipers.

The Spice Red Design Package is offered in Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat, Shark Grey, Blade Silver and Arctic White exterior colors. The convertibles feature a red top. The interior is also full red.

The Jet Black Suede Design Package gets Black, Blade Silver, Arctic White and Torch Red exterior colors to choose from. The convertibles get a black top. Red brake calipers are standard and the interior gets carbon-fibre interior trim plate.

All packages get the rear wing spoiler and Magnetic Ride Control as standard. It is still not know whether the design packages will be offered here in the Middle East.

Performance remains the same with the 455 hp 6.2-litre V8 engine, mated to either a 7-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette should arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries before the end of the year.
