2017 Volvo S90 officially revealed

Volvo has officially revealed the all-new S90 in Sweden. The new model seems to be slightly longer and larger than its predecessor, the S80.

The exterior gets the Thor’s Hammer LED daytime running lights, which we first saw in the new XC90, while the rear gets the C-shaped LED taillights.

Inside, it receives the Sensus Connect touchscreen for the infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.

Under the hood, three petrol engines have been introduced, which includes the 2.0-litre turbocharged and supercharged T6 engine, a turbocharged T5 motor, and the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid unit. Specs of the engines has not been revealed yet.

The Volvo S90 will be introduced to the public during the 2016 Detroit Motor Show in January. Expect it to arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries sometime later in 2016.

  1. That interior is just plain gorgeous. Love the front end as well though kinda unsure about the 90’s style rear.

    • Agree with the interior and front being superb.
Although the rear isn’t very nice, I can see Volvo trying to stand out there AND try form a new trademark design formula (as seen in the case of the interior and the headlights of both the new XC90 and S90) and slowly move out of the Volkswagen segment into the BMW, Merc, Audi, etc. segment.
BTW, the rear did set inside me by the end of the video!

  2. Sorry to be picky, in the last para, it looks like there is a typo in the model name..it says XC90 there.

  3. Does it have Bowers & Wilkins?

  4. I am looking for a c70 replacement to be in that style language. Wow. Good one. still Mercedes is bragging that depending totally on touch screens may be dangerous upon driving. But I am sure that Volvo will sort out the best
