2017 Audi Q2 crossover unveiled in Geneva

Audi Q2

The all-new compact crossover from Audi, the Q2, had its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Though it’s smaller than an A3 Sportback, the styling has given it an SUV-ish stance.

The Q2 comes with 6 engines to choose from. Three of them petrol units, the capacities of which are 1.0, 1.6 and 2.0-litre. The 2.0-litre model will come with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission as standard. A 6-speed manual can be opted for the rest. The car will be powered via the front wheels, but the 2.0-litre models come with all-wheel-drive as standard.

The interior of the car resembles the one in the A3 model, but with more headroom. The Q2 gets two screens, one replacing the gauges and the other serving as an interface for the infotainment system which supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. And if you are ready to shell out more money, Audi will add a heads-up display, a Wi-Fi hotspot and a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Four drive modes, namely Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Efficiency, are there so that the Q2 can adapt according to the likes of the driver.

On the safety front, there is adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, traffic jam assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and parking and cross traffic assist rear.

The Q2 should arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries sometime next year.
