Hyundai recently revealed the all-new Elantra Sport for the South Korean market. Called the “Avante Sport” over there, it comes with an aggressive bodykit and a more powerful engine.

Under the hood, it gets a turbocharged 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engine, mated to either a standard 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The motor churns out about 200 hp and 265 Nm of torque, which is enough to take it from 0-100 kph in about 8 seconds. It also gets a multi-link rear suspension for better handling.

For the exterior, it gets a more aggressive front bumper with larger air intakes and LED daytime running lights. The front grille also benefits from a red “Sport” badge. The rear features a redesigned bumper with a fake diffuser and exhaust chrome tips. The Elantra Sport also gets sportier side skirts and it rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, available in different designs.

Hyundai has tried to spice up the interior with fake carbon-fibre accents, sports seats and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. South Korea gets an “Extreme Package” which features a rear spoiler, some different 18-inch rims and some performance parts.

Whether the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport will make its way to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC showrooms remains to be seen. If it does, it won’t be anytime soon.

  1. Something wrong here, 200 Hp from Turbo engine (that gives high torque at low rpms) with 7 speed double clutch trans and it takes 8 seconds to hit 100 km/s ??!! Im not saying the writer is wrong because i read this somewhere else too, I mean the company is wrong, or there is something wrong in the car

  2. Sometimes it’s the way the power is delivered by the engine and the whole car itself. In this case its true. A v12 Mercedes-Benz feels slower than a v8 because of the way the engines are designed to work.

  3. may be its just heavy which is why it is a bit slow. Also 8sec may be real world estimate on regular road and regular fuel.

  4. Dear Sir,

Kindly notify me if you are selling this car and i am interested in buying this car.
    In installments as well.

    Best Regards,
    Abdul Jalil Mohammad
