2018 Subaru WRX and STi updated

2018 Subaru WRX and STi updated

Before their road-going rally car, the WRX and STi, get completely overhauled in 2020, Subaru has given the outgoing models a nip and tuck for the 2018 model year. But it is not just a mere facelift, as the new car gets a host of mechanical and visual updates.

A new front fascia adorns the front of both the cars. the upper grille is now redesigned and lower grille has been made bigger to give the car a meaner look. The WRX Limited and all variants of the STi are fitted with steering-responsive LED headlights. Subaru has also redesigned the roof mounting racks, which outdoorsy guys will love. A set of 18-inch wheels (19-inch on the STi) elevate the style quotient of the car. The WRX gets its brake calipers in red while the STi gets yellow.

Speaking of brakes, the WRX has an upgraded set of brake pads from Jurid while the STi gets a complete revamp of its braking system. The STi now gets six-piston front and two-piston rear calipers. The WRX STi also gets fully electronic control for its Driver Controlled Center Differential AWD system, which will have a smoother operation. Subaru has also tuned the electric power steering in the WRX for better feel.

The updated WRX and STi will hit UAE and GCC showrooms by mid-2017.
