Tesla today will begin accepting online orders for Model S and Model X in the UAE. Customers in the UAE can now visit the online design studio website to customise and order the Tesla vehicle. First orders of Model S and Model X vehicles are expected to be delivered in Dubai this summer.

The launch of the UAE’s dedicated online platform is supported by a pop-up store in The Dubai Mall, Tesla Ranger service and a service centre now under construction near Interchange Two of Sheikh Zayed Road which will open in July. The store will provide an opportunity for customers to experience Tesla and learn about the benefits of Tesla ownership rather than actually sell cars. In addition to Dubai, Tesla will open a store and service centre in Abu Dhabi next year.

Tesla has designed a electric vehicle charging network, the Supercharger and Destination charging network. Tesla has opened two Supercharging locations at The Last Exit in Jebel Ali and in Masdar City, allowing drivers to recharge their vehicles in minutes rather than hours. By the end of the year, Tesla will open five additional Supercharger locations, enabling long distance travel across every route into and out of the country. The UAE is already home to a number of Tesla’s Destination chargers, which are available at 26 locations across the UAE, including hotels and shopping malls. Tesla will add more than 50 additional Destination charging locations by the end of the year.

With a rated driving range of up to 632 km, Tesla’s top-spec Model S P100D accelerates from 0-100 kph in just 2.7 seconds. Rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive are available, depending on model.

With standard all-wheel-drive and up to 565 km of range on a single charge, the Model X gets seating for seven adults. The top-spec Model X is accelerates from 0-100 kph in 3.1 seconds.

Prices start from Dhs 275,000 for Model S and Dhs 344,000 for Model X. The famous Model S P100D starts at Dhs 544,000.

You can reserve the smaller Model 3 hatchback for Dhs 4,000. It is expected to go on sale sometime in 2018, with a starting price of around Dhs 130,000.

  1. The price is not bad for an all electric car but with that kind of insane acceleration, novice people better be careful as it puts this kind of performance in everybody’s reach.

  2. The problem , we like the smell of the petrol

  3. it means that they need to install superchargers also everywhere…

  4. Tesla, why don’t you FIX your existing problems before announcing new stuff and new markets???

Your service in the USA is TERRIBLE! SuperCharger lines. Your brand is quickly eroding. I would NEVER buy another!!!

But now your stock has closed at ATH, you think your problems are all over?? And I used to respect Elon … not anymore. You lost your focus and are sh1tt1ng all over your early adopters!

  5. It nice to own one.. but a pain to recharge the car, since it takes a lot of time and car chargers aren’t widely available.
once the charging problem is solved, i would really like to own one!

    • Super Chargers charge at about 600km/hr, it’s not as long especially if you plug in at work or home.

2 Superchargers and 26 chargers are added to the existing DEWA network. There are around 128 chargers total in Dubai.

  6. I found a white one in the National Paint area, Sharjah last Friday afternoon (10/02/2017). Same model as the blue colour in the pictures above.

  7. im concern more in the event of road accident happens to these electric cars. Are they safe ?

    • Battery has plenty of fail-safes in case of an accident. We got used to running with explosive liquids (read:gasoline) so we can get used to a battery.

  8. at USD 75K a piece out of reach for most of us.
