2019 Mercedes G-Class AMG-Line gives a hint of upcoming AMG models

It is imperative that after Mercedes Benz revealed the 2019 G-Class, their in-house tuning division AMG lay their hands on it and come up with a bunch of high-performance models. But before all that hell breaks loose, Mercedes shows off an AMG-Line version for the 2019 G Class which will give us an idea of what to expect from the G63 AMG.

The front and rear fascia of the 2019 G Class have been tweaked. Riding on any of the two unique 20-inch wheel designs, the AMG-Line G Class stands apart from the regular lineup. There are beefier wheel arches to complement the large wheels along with brushed aluminium accents on the body.

Inside, the AMG line G Class comes with a Nappa leather-covered flat bottom steering wheel. Red accenting is offered on the seatbelts, seats, and AMG branded floor mats.

There are no changes to the engine though. There is a sports exhaust to amplify the soundtrack coming from the G500’s biturbo 4.0-litre V8. The engine still pumps out an adequate 422 hp and 610 Nm of torque.

For those seeking an adrenaline rush coming from under the hood, the G63 AMG should debut by summer. A V12 G65 AMG is unlikely to return as Mercedes has spoken about the V12 being a Maybach-only offering.
