2018 BMW 2-Series Active Tourer and Grand Tourer get subtlest of refreshes

The refresh given to BMW’s 2-Series front-wheel-drive MPV models is as discreet as refreshes can get. Both the five-seat Active Tourer and seven-seat Grand Tourer gets the treatment which mostly consists of two new exterior shades, Jucaro Beige and Sunset Orange, and six new alloy wheel designs ranging from 17 to 19 inches.

The exterior changes apart from these include tiny changes to the headlamps and tail lamps, kidney grille, and air intakes. Exhaust tips have been made bigger and dual exhaust setup can be installed on four-cylinder models.

The changes to the oily bits are a bit more significant as they include the addition of a seven-speed, dual-clutch Steptronic gearbox which from now on, will be available alongside the existing six-speed manual and eight-speed Steptronic. Optimisation of the engine components has been done to improve the efficiency of the 2-Series. The engine outputs range from 109 hp to 231 hp for the Active Tourer and 109 hp to 192 hp for the seven-seat Gran Tourer. There is a 225xe hybrid model as well, which returns an impressive fuel efficiency as it sips just 2.3 litres/100 km.

Surely you want one of these more than ever now.

What do you think?
