The American-built Honda Odyssey is turning out to be rather problematic, as a U.S. recall for brakes is issued. Also on the recall path is the American-built Mitsubishi Galant.

 Nissan is going to start offering their new range of 2011 Nissan NV work vans in North America. There are three body styles, but more intriguingly, there are V6 and V8 engine choices.  These here are the first official photos of the upcoming 2011 Kia Optima sedan, and it is indeed a visual stunner.  The 2010 Infiniti G37 convertible debuted in the UAE, at a launch event in Dubai. The new all-new model features a folding hard-top, and is the first convertible to join the Infiniti range in the GCC.  Recession and petrol prices be damned, people have been scrambling to place orders for the 2010 Nissan Patrol. In the midst of the frenzy are some of our readers who’ve also been trying to book a Patrol for themselves. They also report price-gouging and promises of a V6 version.  To keep things fresh ,Toyota has unveiled a facelifted version of their RAV-4 crossover 4×4 at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show.  Finally some news from Toyota which isn’t bad. The Corolla AE-86 from the 1980s, became popular in the modified scene, with its real-wheel drive format and perfect balance. Hard to believe Corollas were cool once. The Toyota FT-86 concept was showed off by Toyota and from the looks of it, the magic could be back.  For what seemed like ages, there was no rain. But then when it finally rains, it pours. And we aren’t even talking about the stormy local weather. Nissan, Mazda and Jeep have joined the runaway recall bandwagon, while GM and Hyundai have managed to keep their noses clean in the UAE.  The 2011 Lexus CT 200H, was made keeping the European market in mind, hence the five-door hatchback design. This is a hybrid model and is going to compete in the premium compact segment. Lexus wants to target younger customers for this model.  Bad news hit several automakers over the past few days, not least of which is Toyota’s continued pounding due to recalls. Hyundai and Suzuki have also joined the recall craze, while Hummer suffers from bad news of a different kind.  This here is the facelifted 2011 Nissan Pathfinder for the European market. European Pathfinders are built in Spain and come with diesel engines. What this means for GCC-spec Pathfinders is unknown, as UAE-bound models are built in America.  As is common knowledge by now, the 2010 Nissan Patrol was launched in Dubai on February 15, at an event on an offroad course within the Jebel Ali Shooting Club. Apparently the course will be used for customer test-drives once the all-new Patrol goes on sale. We have exclusive photos of the course, courtesy of [...]  With all the recalls Toyota have been doing, they were in the news for a different reason recently, the launch of the Toyota Avalon 2011 model. Bearing the same engine under the bonnet, the re-design has a slight makeover on the exterior. The interior had more changes done which is much improved from the previous [...]  The UK-built 2010 Honda Civic Type R MUGEN 200 limited edition model has been launched. As the name suggests, only 200 will be built and sold in the UK. Bagging the same 201 hp 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine, this model is just mostly cosmetic changes on the standard Type R model.  Toyota and Honda are proceeding with recall campaigns in some GCC countries. Toyota is offering a free fix for affected Avalon and Sequoia owners, while Honda will do complimentary work on a handful of Odyssey minivans. This here is exclusive video footage, taken by our roving photographer Faisal Khatib, of the 2010 Nissan Patrol on a man-made offroad course during the launch event in Dubai. While the course is standard fare, we seem to be the only ones who caught the high-tech new Patrol tripping on one of the obstacles.  WALD, a Japanese tuner company, recently released a styling kit for the new 2010 Lexus LS460.  The all-new 2010 Nissan Patrol was launched on February 13th, at a VIP event in Abu Dhabi. While we didn’t go, information is already trickling down on the net about the redesigned Patrol.  The all-new 2010 Hyundai Tucson went on sale in the UAE recently, after a press launch in Oman to which we were not invited. The secretive new crossover is available in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah showrooms with two engines, a whole host of comfort options, and typical Korean safety features.  Honda has added another 437,000 vehicles to an existing global recall for faulty air bags that dates back to November 2008, now totalling 510,000 cars. |
