 Finally some news from Toyota which isn’t bad. The Corolla AE-86 from the 1980s, became popular in the modified scene, with its real-wheel drive format and perfect balance. Hard to believe Corollas were cool once. The Toyota FT-86 concept was showed off by Toyota and from the looks of it, the magic could be back.  The Porsche 918 Spyder is not only going to be super fast, but also super fuel-efficient as it will be a hybrid. Already electric versions of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid and the 2011 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid being released, the 918 Spyder will also follow Porsche’s new trend of building fast cars while keeping [...]  Details of the 2011 Peugeot 508, which will be the replacement for the 407 and 607 models, have been revealed. Featuring a big grill and rounded curves all over, it looks pretty good in these initial pictures. The engine details have only been released for the hybrid model.  Mercedes-Benz recently showed off its new F800 at the Geneva Auto Show. The bold, futuristically designed Mercedes-Benz F800 is said to be the next CLS.  The European Registry is sort of a copyright database for product designs, including all-new cars. The Registry therefore has photos of never-before-seen models, and some of these occasionally leak into the public domain. Like the 2011 Kia Sportage, for instance.  A new version of the Toyota FT-86 concept has been revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon, a motor show of sorts. Dubbed the FT-86 G Sports Concept, it is also featured in the new trailer for the upcoming PS3 video game Gran Turismo 5.  Cadillac has unveiled the fullsize XTS Platinum Concept at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The concept showcases Cadillac’s new top-of-the-line “Platinum” series of models, which include new luxury tech and a plug-in hybrid system. To be shown at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, the Chevrolet Aveo RS concept is a gussied-up version of the production 2011 Aveo hatchback that will debut in the U.S. later this year.  Toyota is showing off the Etios “concept” at the New Delhi Motor Show, ready to become the company’s volume seller in the competitive Indian market.  Honda’s Indian division has unveiled the Honda New Small Concept, a concept version for what will become a new sub-compact hatchback model, at the Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi.  An all-new 2010 Chevrolet Sail model has debuted exclusively for the Chinese market, to sold alongside the recently-facelifted Chevy Lova. The Lova happens to be a version of the Aveo that we get here, and by all indications, the Sail may very well become the next Aveo.  Leaked information confirms what has been rumoured for almost a year now. Kepler Motors, founded by American racer Russ Wicks, unveiled its Motion concept supercar at the 2009 Dubai International Motor Show. Dubbed the Mitsubishi RVR, it is possible that it might receive a better name before it debuts next year as a 2011 model.  Audi unveiled their new R8-based E-Tron electric concept supercar at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, claiming that it produces a whopping 4500 Nm of torque. It became big news because today’s supercars barely break 1000 Nm on the spec sheet. But a U.S. car magazine investigated further and found out it was all bull.  Volvo has released the first photos of the all-new 2011 S60 sedan, further defining the corporate styling that first started with the XC60 crossover last year. It is interesting, but not really a breakthrough with that droopy nose.  Kia has announced that their all-new luxury sedan will be called the Cadenza. The full-size sedan will replace the Kia Opirus. |
