Celebrating its 50th year in America, Honda kicked off its week at the 2009 SEMA tuner show in Las Vegas with a variety of accessorised Honda models, including an official reveal of a 2010 Accord Sedan fitted with Mugen extras.

 Holland & Holland, makers of “the world’s finest sporting guns” and Overfinch, makers of tuner Range Rovers, have joined forces to create the ultimate luxury off-roader for drunk hunters. The Holland & Holland Range Rover is “a quintessentially English take on motoring luxury,” with interior fittings to store wine bottles and hunting rifles.  European tuning firm Mansory has unveiled their new limited edition Chopster, based on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, but upgraded in power and chopped in height.  The Abu Dhabi dealer for BMW is the first importer in the world to officially take delivery of the new 2010 Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo, which is based on the latest BMW 7-Series. The Alpina-tuned model comes with a unique ‘001’ number, marked on its headliner plate.  The exclusive dealer for BMW in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain is now offering a HAMANN body kit for the BMW X6, with a complete factory warranty.  Well-known Porsche tuners 9ff has introduced their version of the Porsche Panamera hunchback sedan, which is yet to go on sale in the GCC even in stock form. The 9ff version is still in the design stage.  The Jaguar XKR was redesigned for the 2010 model year, receiving a minor facelift and a lot more power. European tuner Arden felt that Jaguar didn’t pump up the power enough, and took it upon itself to give the XKR Convertible a work-out.  Infiniti dealers in the UAE and a few other GCC countries are now offering a dealer-fitted body kit for the Infiniti FX35 and FX50 crossover 4×4 models. There will also be selling pre-fitted 2009 Infiniti FX units as a “Limited Edition” model.  Run by Tym Switzer, American tuning firm Switzer Performance has introduced their 800 hp P800 package for Porsche’s track-focused GT2 last June, but apparently a number of customers asked if they could get the same power upgrade from the all-wheel-drive 911 Turbo model. So they went ahead and created one.  When MJ Acquisitions bought out Saleen Performance Vehicles earlier this year, original founder Steve Saleen left and started up another tuner company called SMS Supercars. And while Steve is battling his former company for rights to the “Saleen” name, the firm bearing his name has unveiled its first 2010 product since the acquisition, called the [...]  The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, staid and boring in stock form, doesn’t exactly look any better after extensive modifications. The new RS-Kit by Carlsson attempts to give the GL a “sporty” look, but ends up looking more like a thug.  The modified Porsche Cayenne Turbo Balrog is the work of “car stylist” Jeremie Paret, former editor at a French “luxury tuning” magazine, who last year decided to start a new business called Balrog’s Garage. The Cayenne Balrog is his first offering.  The limited-edition Ferrari Enzo has been out of production for a while now, and while its numbers are depleting due to regular accidents, other owners may want yet more power to push their luck. That’s where Edo Competition comes in.  RUF claims to be an independent car manufacturer, and is also registered as such in Germany. In reality, they are an exclusive Porsche tuner, and their latest 911-based offering is the RUF Rt 12 S.  Ford has created a one-of-a-kind 2010 Ford Mustang GT, dubbed the Mustang AV-X10 “Dearborn Doll,” to be sold at auction during the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) 2009 AirVenture Oshkosh aviation event. Ford is the exclusive automotive partner with EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and all of the proceeds from the sale will benefit the Young Eagles organization. [...]  Steve Saleen and his new company SMS Supercars unveiled the first computer-generated illustrations of their upcoming 2010 SMS 460 Mustang.  Fahrmitgas.de, a German tuning firm named after its own website, is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing on July 20, 1969. While their motto for their celebratory project is “drive me to the moon,” their choice of vehicle is rather underwhelming. So it their spaceman mascot.  In a blast from the recent past, BMW tuner G-Power has turned its attention to the previous-generation BMW M3 E46, offering a supercharger for the old model that makes it powerful enough to challenge the new M3.  The 1975 Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9 is from those times when the German company’s cars were legendary, both in performance and reliability. German tuner Lorinser was also active back then, modifying the W116-series Benz and creating even more rare cars in the process. Lorinser themselves have now put up one of their originals for sale.
