Long-time readers would have noticed that I spend my days in Canada now. As I was settling in with my family, we didn’t want to spend too much right off the bat on a car. After swapping through a variety of rentals, we got our local licences and set about buying something that wasn’t too old and wouldn’t be a reliability headache.

It also became clear that power would be an important factor on Canada’s radar-free highways, yet a smaller size would be preferable as the missus was going to share the car as a new driver, too.

Acura is Honda’s luxury brand, found in only a handful of markets. The RDX crossover is Acura’s key player in the U.S. market. Accounting for a third of the total Acura sales, the RDX obviously is a very important product. Now, as a new generation model of the RDX is due to arrive this summer, Acura has lifted the covers off the 2019 RDX prototype.

After getting into the self-driving game a little late compared to several other mainstream carmakers, Honda plans to introduce cars with highly-automated driving capabilities in most driving situations by 2025. We tried out their latest autonomous prototypes during a trip to Honda’s R&D centre in Tochigi, Japan recently.

Acura has revealed the official specs of the much awaited NSX hybrid-supercar. The car broke grounds at the North American International Auto Show in January, following years of teasers and concepts, some as early as 2007!

The Honda NSX, or rather Acura NSX as it will be called in most markets, is a car that’s been painfully dragged on through the development process for almost a decade now. First announced in late 2007 as a concept, it was cancelled in 2008 due to the recession, then revived again as an actual Japanese SuperGT Championship race-car in 2010, then became a hybrid in 2011, and was finally unveiled in 2012 as a near-production concept, except that it was nowhere near production-ready yet. It’s still undergoing development, and the latest prototype is now doing the rounds of the UAE for hot-weather testing,

Honda’s luxury division, Acura, has an entire range of cars that are offered in North America. The closest we’ve had to Acuras in the Middle East were the Honda Integra up till the late 90s and the Honda Legend in 2008, which were rebadged as Acura in the States. However, the brand now offers a bespoke set of models that aren’t just rebadged Hondas any more, although they all are based on Honda mechanicals. And Acura is finally on sale in at laest one country.
