Along with the 2021 Toyota Hilux, Toyota has also flung the covers off its SUV sibling, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner. The facelifted midsize SUV comes with a slightly updated design, a more powerful engine option, and a few more features.
When the all-new Toyota Fortuner debuted a year ago, it created waves with its new-age styling that still somehow looked like a tough offroader (unless, say, the poor attempt that is the new Land Rover Discovery). What we didn’t expect were all the other improvements, including an interior that is surprisingly upscale at first glance.
Al Futtaim Motors recently launched the all-new 2016 Toyota Fortuner in the UAE. Featuring completely new exterior and interior designs, the second generation Fortuner was destined to be a hit before it even arrived on our shores. We had a chance to drive the new Fortuner in both road and off-road conditions during the UAE’s mega-storm earlier this month.
Last year, Toyota introduced the second-generation model of their Hilux-based SUV, the Fortuner. Now they have released the TRD Sportivo version of the same with “sporty” bodywork in its home market of South-East Asia.
Toyota has officially revealed the all-new Fortuner, after a decade of remaining nearly unchanged.
Scanned pictures of the brochure and new images of the 2016 Toyota Fortuner has made its way online. The new Fortuner is set to be officially revealed in Thailand on July 17th.
The current Toyota Fortuner is a bit long in the tooth, having undergone two minor facelifts over its near decade-long existence. However, it looks like a completely new model is set to debut before the end of 2015.
This is probably old news for Toyota fanboys, but for those who don’t know, Al Futtaim Motors in the UAE is offering a TRD kit for the 2014-2015 Toyota Fortuner, and this is the first time we got a close look at it, when we were dropping off our Toyota FJ Cruiser at the dealer service centre.
There we were, a Ford Raptor in our parking lot, and the only logical thing to do was to venture into the desert wilderness. So we were on the lookout for a rental 4×4 as a backup vehicle for desert-testing something as big as a tank, in case it needed to get pulled out! While we were looking for nothing less than a powerful V6 at least, we ended up with a 2013 Toyota Fortuner 2.7, thanks to the ridiculously ill-informed staff of an international rental agency.
The Toyota Fortuner, soulmate of the Toyota Hilux pickup on which it is based, has just received a facelift for 2012. It has already been revealed in Thailand, where it is built.
