 While none of the lap timings set at the German Nurburgring racetrack are officially sanctioned, small-time carmaker Gumpert claims that their new Gumpert Apollo Sport has set a new lap record for a road-legal production car at the track, timed and reported by German magazine Sport-Auto.  A German magazine is reporting that a Porsche Panamera Turbo driven by Porsche test driver Walter Röhrl has lapped the popular Nürburgring race track in 7 minutes 56 seconds, which shaves about three seconds off the record 7 minutes 59.32 seconds time set by the Cadillac CTS-V to claim the title of fastest sedan on [...]  At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Nissan claims that their GT-R has broken its own Nurburgring record yet again, with a time of 7 minutes 26.70 seconds. The abilities of a vehicle are nothing when the driver isn’t up for the challenge. Here is footage of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van working Germany’s famed Nurburgring racetrack. Having driven the Sprinter ourselves, we’d say an empty Sprinter can handle long sweeping turns once up to speed. Nissan has been testing a quicker prototype version of their new GT-R sports car at the German Nurburgring racetrack. The standard GT-R is already faster than the Porsche 911 Turbo, at 7:38 minutes for one lap, and Nissan had promised to beat the exotic Carrera GT in the future. It appears Nissan has done the [...] 
I was highlighting some time ago how the 2009 Nissan GT-R outran many high-dollar exotics at the Nurburgring racetrack in Germany, with a time of 7:38 minutes, better than the Porsche 911 Turbo and the overhyped Audi R8.
