Peugeot 206
The 206 is Peugeot's most popular model, originally available with a wide range of body styles, trim levels and engine
choices. The 206 has technically been replaced by the 207, but the
206 continues to be in production due to its popularity. Its design has changed little since its launch
in 1999, with derivatives such as the 206 CC Cabriolet and a fast RC
hatchback joining and leaving the line-up. Now available only in 5-door
hatchback trim built in France and in new 4-door sedan trim built in Iran, it
acts as a cheaper alternative to the 207. There are only two petrol engines
offered since late 2007. The 206 can be had with
a 1.4-litre or a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with either a manual or an
automatic with tiptronic shifting. All models come with at least front power windows, a cloth interior and other basics
as standard. Add-ons such as sunroof, CD player, a single airbag and alloy
wheels come in the higher models. Optional comprehensive safety equipment include ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Emergency Brake Assist,
along with dual front airbags.

Peugeot 207
The 207 is the redesigned replacement for the popular 206
models, available in three body styles, various trim levels and four engine
choices. Derivatives include the 207 CC Cabriolet and a fast 3-door RC
hatchback, alongside the regular 3-door and 5-door hatchback range. The basic
3-door and 5-door hatchbacks can be had with a 1.4-litre and a manual gearbox,
or a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with either a manual or an automatic. The
207 CC comes standard with this 1.6-litre and an automatic. A mid-range
turbocharged 1.6-litre engine can also be had in the GT
hatchback, but only with a manual gearbox.
And there is yet another more powerful 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with
a manual reserved for the sporty RC hatchback. Basic models come with front power windows, cloth interior,
dual front airbags, keyless entry, ABS brakes and even a CD player as standard.
Equipment in the higher models include stability and traction control,
panoramic sunroof, 16-inch or 17-inch alloys, side airbags, electric mirrors,
automatic a/c, rear parking sensors and more.

Peugeot 307
The 307 is available in three
body styles, namely a hatchback, a station wagon and a retractable-top coupe-cabriolet. The facelifted appearance is consistent with the latest Peugeot corporate look, though not necessarily better-looking. All models retain the traditional
triangular headlights, while now receiving fancy LED tail-lights. The tall 307 can be had in a standard five-door hatchback body, a CC
hardtop-convertible body, and an SW or Break station wagon body. Available
engines are all four-cylinder units. The 1.6-litre and the 2.0-litre can be had
with either a manual or an automatic on any hatchback or wagon model. The 307 CC
coupe-convertible can be had with only the 2.0-litre, but only with an automatic
gearbox. A more powerful 2.0-litre engine could be had if you pay the dealer
enough. All models come with standard power windows, cloth interior, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Emergency Brake Assist, ESP and traction control, and at least driver and front passenger air bags. Available features include side airbags and a leather interior.

Peugeot 308
The 308 is a completely new version of the outgoing 307, and is available in 3-door and 5-door versions, both in hatchback trim. Two 1.6-litre engines are available,
one being turbocharged. All versions come with an automatic gearbox, with only the basic 5-door
non-turbo model getting a manual. Even the most basic model gets driver & passenger airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, trip computer, CD player with remote stalk, speed-sensitive power steering, electric windows and mirrors, cooling vent inside the glove compartment, height-adjustable headlights, split-folding rear seats, remote key with central locking, and 15-inch wheels. Moving up to the higher trim levels adds items such as side-curtain airbags, stability control, navigation system, dual-zone automatic a/c with rear vents, CD/MP3 player with GSM built-in telephone, 5-CD changer, panoramic sunroof with automatic curtain, cruise control, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, leather seats with chrome interior trim, auto-dimming mirror, foldable door mirrors, fog lights, parking sensors, front and rear armrests, 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic tyre pressure sensors. Inside and out, it is a classy hatchback for its category, making it as good as any of the premium-branded
compacts.

Peugeot 407
The 407 is an oddity in the midsize car segment, with bold
styling that puts form over function. The exterior features a long hood and a compact
trunk, all of which compromises interior space. Available in four-door sedan,
two-door coupe or five-door station wagon body styles, there are at least three
engines littering the range. The entry level engine is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine combined with a 4-speed automatic
with tiptronic sequential control. Then there is a 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine with a 4-speed
automatic gearbox. Manual gearbox models have been discontinued here. The top
model is a 3.0-litre V6 engine with variable valve timing, combined with an all-new 6-speed automatic gearbox with
tiptronic. The sedan gets all engine options,
while the SW wagon gets only the 2.0-litre. The coupe gets only the 3.0-litre
V6, or even the 2.2-litre if you special order one. Even the most basic model
gets power windows, keyless entry, cruise control, ABS, stability control, power
mirrors, fog lights, rear sunblind and automatic climate control. The 4-cylinder
models get six airbags, while the V6 model gets as many as nine airbags.

Peugeot 607
Supposed to be Peugeot's flagship model, the 607 offers premium levels of refinement and equipment. The
607 was the first Peugeot sedan to push design boundaries, but lost out in drive
due to an unremarkable front-wheel-drive chassis. The 607 was restyled in 2004, and
still looks good as ever. Among the exterior cosmetic changes, the front of
the 607 was restyled and its overall length increased slightly, but it is still
not big enough to qualify as a full-size car. The interior of the 607 is more spacious than any other Peugeot model. The only
engine is a 3.0-litre V6 with a six-speed automatic transmission with tiptronic
function. Standard features include bi-zone digital air conditioning with
climate control, a heat reflective windshield and lightly tinted glass, leather with aluminium detailing, electrically-adjustable front seats,
and power windows, locks and mirrors. It is well-equipped in terms of passive safety, with eight airbags as standard,
including front-and-rear side and curtain bags.
