The Gen2 is probably the most competitive model in Proton's line-up. Its chassis is engineered with the help of Proton-owned sports car maker Lotus, with engines derived from Mitsubishi. Powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder, this five-door hatchback can be had with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. The car is available with cloth upholstery, front power windows, trip computer, 60/40 split folding rear seats, keyless entry, 15-inch alloy wheels, central locking and CD stereo with four speakers and steering wheel-mounted controls. Options include a 10-disc CD changer, rear power windows, rear spoiler, cruise control, leather seating, fog lamps and metallic paint. Safety features include ABS brakes, dual front airbags and seat-belts for all seating positions, while side airbags are optional in the higher models. The Gen2 is not available in all Middle East markets. As far as we know, it is only available in a handful of GCC countries, and might not offer all the optional extras.
The Savvy is the third car developed by Proton itself, after the Waja and the Gen2. This five-door hatchback is sized somewhere between a mini hatchback and a sub-compact, thus making this entry level Proton one of the larger offerings in this market segment. Hilariously touted as a cheap "Lotus" in early marketing materials, the Savvy benefits from numerous unique features, such as actual suspension tuning by Lotus, stepped side windows and a clamshell-style hood. Lifting the hood reveals a Renault 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine, mated to either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic. Standard features include cloth upholstery, 50:50 flat folding rear seats, keyless entry, power steering, rear window wiper, 14-inch steel wheels and a CD player with four speakers. Options include front power windows, 15-inch alloy wheels and metallic paint. The Savvy is available with ABS brakes and dual front airbags. The Savvy is not available in all GCC markets.

Proton Waja
Proton claimed that the Waja was their first in-house car designed by Malaysians. However, its petrol engine is bought directly from Mitsubishi, and the suspension work was done by their independent Lotus division. The Waja is sold as the Impian in some markets, or referred to as the Waja Campro sometimes to advertise its latest engine. Powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder, this four-door sedan can be had with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. The car is available with cloth upholstery, front power windows, trip computer, 60/40 split folding rear seats, keyless entry, 15-inch alloy wheels, central locking and CD stereo with four speakers and steering wheel-mounted controls. Options include a 10-disc CD changer, rear power windows, sunroof, cruise control, leather seating, fog lamps and metallic paint. Safety features include ABS brakes, dual front airbags and seat-belts for all seating positions. The Waja is not available in all Middle East markets. As far as we know, it is only available in a handful of GCC countries, and might not offer all the optional extras.
