The 9-3 midsize sports sedan has been around for a while now, spawning variants such as the Sport Combi station wagon and the evergreen convertible. Receiving a major facelift for 2008, the car comes in various confusingly-named trims, including a new Turbo X model. The base model features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine known as the 1.8t, a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic, 16-inch alloy wheels, power windows and mirrors, a power driver's seat, and an infotainment audio system with 150 watts and seven speakers. Mid-level engines are both also 2.0-litre turbo, known as the 2.0t and the 2.0T, with either manual or automatic. The Aero models feature the new 2.8-litre V6 turbo engine, known as the 2.8T, and a choice of 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions, along with 17-inch alloy wheels, the sophisticated ReAxs four-wheel steering system, lowered sports suspension and stability control. The Turbo X model gets an upgraded version of the 2.8T, and gets a Haldex “XWD” all-wheel-drive system. Not all engines come in all body styles. Optional features, some of which are standard on higher models, include a sunroof, wooden trim, integrated telephone system with SIM card reader & Bluetooth phone connection, headlamp washers, Xenon headlamps, 6-disc in-dash changer, keyless entry and more. Safety features include available front, side and curtain airbags, along with ABS brakes and available ESP system.

Saab 9-5
The aging 9-5 was given a makeover recently, which includes a new look inside and out, and some minor mechanical modifications.
Sold in Linear, Arc and Aero versions, there is only the four-door sedan form
available here, although a SportCombi wagon could probably be ordered. The 9-5 now features
two 2.3-litre four-cylinder turbo engines in different states of tune, mated to five-speed manual or optional automatic transmissions. The 9-5 features consist of leather upholstery, sport-tuned suspension, power windows and mirrors, power-adjustable front seats, computer information display, Xenon headlamps, anti-theft alarm, sunroof, CD stereo, aumatic climate control, alloy wheels, parking sensors, keyless entry and more. Safety features are extensive, with an active head restraint system, front and side airbags, ABS brakes, traction control and stability control. This car certainly is loaded with features, but it loses out with an inflated price tag for what is essentially a four-cylinder front-wheel-drive sedan, living only on facelifts since the last millenium.
The 9-7X is an American-sourced 4WD derived undeniably from the Chevrolet Trailblazer, although Saab tries hard to integrate typical Saab traits into it, such as the aircraft-like front end, sportier driving dynamics, and the ignition in the lower center console like in all the Swedish sedans. The 9-7X features standard automatic all-wheel drive, a 4.2-litre inline-6 or a 5.3-litre V8, and a four-speed automatic transmission. Features, standard or optional, 18-inch alloy wheels, Xenon headlamps, trailer-hitch wiring harness, headlamp washers, power windows and mirrors, optional moonroof, leather seats, adjustable pedals, wood-effect trim, leather steering wheel with audio controls, driver information centre, power door locks, remote keyless entry, cruise control, theft deterrent system, dual zone auto climate control, AM/FM stereo with 6-CD in-dash changer, Bose speaker audio system, rear seat audio controls, limited slip differential, sport-tuned chassis, and a tool kit. Safety features include front dual airbags, front side-curtain airbags, rollover sensor, 3-point seatbelts for all seating positions, ABS brakes and stability control.
