Hyundai Centennial
2010 - 2012

Ultimate Car Buyer Guide

The Hyundai Centennial is a full-size high-end luxury sedan that serves as the flagship model for the Korean manufacturer. Also known as the Equus elsewhere, it is the most expensive sedan in the company's lineup ever. This is the first time that it has ever been offered outside Korea. The new-for-2010 model comes with a rear-wheel-drive platform and V8 engine aimed to compete with the Germans. The styling is conservative and the naming is derivative, as the standard model with the 4.6-litre V8 goes by the badge Centennial VS460. Features include a 6-speed automatic, 3.5-inch display screen for the driver information system, parking cameras rear and front, HID headlights, Adaptive Front Lighting, electric parking brake, leather upholstery, sunroof, power seats with reclining rear ones, CD/MP3 stereo, keyless entry with push-button start, and all the usual power accessories. The Vehicle Stability Management includes the Lane Departure Warning System, Pre-Safety System and Smart Cruise Control. When a collision is detected, the system automatically applies full braking force and reels in the front seat belts. Other safety features include nine airbags, including two front, four side and two side curtain airbags, as well as a knee airbag.
