Slow base engine, dull cabin design, shallow boot, some road noise
The Mazda 6, or Mazda6 as the marketeers call it, has been completely redesigned for 2013. It is available with "SkyActiv" engines, a 2.0-litre and a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder, both direct-injection with high compression ratios. There are two body styles, namely a sedan and a station-wagon. The sedan is available with both engine options, while the wagon only comes with the smaller motor. The lower models include features such as 17-inch or 18-inch wheels, power windows and mirrors, keyless entry, manual a/c, halogen headlights, cloth upholstery and a CD/MP3 stereo. The top model includes 19-inch alloy wheels, reverse camera, bi-xenon headlights, daytime running lights, 11-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone automatic a/c with rear vents and a sunroof. Navigation and adaptive cruise control can be further added to the top-spec version, but they're not offered in all GCC markets. Standard safety features include dual front airbags with optional side-curtain airbags, stability control, and ABS with EBD.
