Rolls Royce Phantom 2013 Overview

The Rolls Royce Phantom gets a facelift for 2012, but the new tech added brings the flagship up to modern standards. Known as the Phantom Series II, the British-built ultimate luxury car has all the gimmicks you would expect if you were royalty. The chassis, engine and most of its mechanicals are all manufactured in Germany, but final assembly occurs in the United Kingdom. Each car is custom-built according to individual tastes, but all are powered by a BMW-derived 6.8-litre V12 mated to a new 8-speed automatic gearbox and a rear-wheel-drive platform. Standard features include a forest's worth of wood, a ranch's worth of leather, larger-than-life 22-inch alloy wheels, high-tech air suspension and the most advanced run-flat tyre system yet. The rear cabin can be outfitted to have a large sofa-style bench or two individual seats, accessed via rear-hinged doors. Legroom is immense, and the floor is nearly flat for easy ingress and egress. Also upgraded for 2012 is the multimedia computer, based on the BMW iDrive system. Safety features include the usual BMW fare, with multiple airbags and electronic nannies. A long-wheelbase version is also available.
