2010 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan get new faces

Mexican-built corporate twins, the Ford Fusion and the Mercury Milan, have barely been on sale in the GCC for a year, but they’ve been available in the American market since at least 2006. Therefore, the cars are due for a major facelift in 2010, and these are the first photos of the production-ready models.

It is same to say that the overall shape hasn’t changed much, and most of the redesign has concentrated on upgrading the front end, with most likely a new interior for each car. Latest news suggest that the American engine range includes a 174 hp 2.5-litre 4-cylinder, a 240 hp 3.0-litre V6 and a 263 hp 3.5-litre V6, all available with a new 6-speed automatic. The Americans will also get hybrid versions of the Fusion and Milan, with a reported range as high as 1100 km. So far, only the four-banger base engine is available in current models sold in Dubai.

  1. wow. that looks very agressive.

  2. finally the American Fords are learning how to come up with good designs!!

  3. I’m sure thats faux chrome made of plastic like the fivehundred and edge but still looks good anyway.

  4. far more better than the on-going fusion…the current fusion looks soo dull! I’ve no idea about the performance of the 2.3L engine though!

  5. nice looking car…but they have to change the rear look too….

  6. oh yea…they must do tat!..the rear looks crap!

  7. i wonder if the sales of this car will exceed double digit 🙄

  8. keep wondering.
    .
its best if a car doesnt sell too much. then they become a common sight and things become boring.just picture this. a new car has launched. for the first month it sales are low. now this car has become very popular with the kids and they just wait to see it on the roads and when they see one, they press their noses to the rear window to look at it but in four months the car is so popular that the kids just dont bother to look at it. they know that they’ll see many more in the day. thats the difference in seeing a supercar like Lambo or a luxury car like maybach than seeing a… corolla or camry [dont take it personally prado. its just that there are a lot of these on the road]

  9. dont temme tat UN forces will now start considering the Corollas and Camrys for upcoming warfares! 😆 😆 😆 😆

  10. @Prado: yea true, evn i wonder whether it’ll sell more tan 5 vehicles in the coming 5 years. wid stuff flaming out and electrical issues, itz DANGEROUS! right Prado?? Holy Crap!! Stay away..the pic might explode into flames now 😆 😆 😆

  11. alrite…jokes apart…but seriously, after redesigning the front and making it look cool, if they leave the rear untouched, then tat’ll be mega crap!..hope they dont make mistakes in designing tis time!

  12. pfff! hahaHA! camry and corolla in warfare. O boy you cracked me up there 😆 .

  13. @viek

how many old ford do u see running around?

  14. not many. old fords werent so good with the durability thing. but a brand improves over the years. working harder will eventually bring success. you should be asking how many new fords you see around and I’m seeing quiet a decent number of ’em. take your toyta for example. if you’re a big enough fan of the brand you’d know what they had been through at the start. they were like the chinese are now. No one expected anything from japan in the auto dep. but toyota wasnt detered and worked hard and now they’ve reached no. 1 auto maker. now, japanese cars are a symbol of high quality and durability.

  15. well said Boris..yes Prado; i do agree that the old fords were actually subject to all the electrical issues n stuff whch u mentioned; but the new ones are totally different; and I too see quite a good number of fords on roads these days. Reason is that, they’ve improved from their mistakes. And tat is true not only about the fords, but many othr brands and makes that were once crap! At one point of time, Toyota was crap..but tatz history of histories now!..Today, even if Toyota makes the shi**iest of cars by the least of chances, people buy them blindly; only because they came up to a level where the name means nothing but reliability! People know that Toyota cannot go wrong..I myself quoted the possibility as “least of chances”..The same story goes with every other car manufacturer. They make mistakes, but improve over time. Trust me, if I was given a choice between a Toyota Corolla and a Ford Mondeo back in 1996, I would not even think of a the latter! However, other brands including Hyundai, Kia, Ford etc. are all now coming up with excellent models at very competetive prices. And Prado, plz do not take anything personal bro! We’ve nothing against the Toyotas.. 😆 😆

  16. if Toyota makes the shi**iest of cars by the least of chances, people buy them blindly;***********

RE: crap totota cars are all non jap mades ones i.e. camry, ehco and fortuner. they are not “toyota quality”. people who bought them have bought cars that wont last more than 10 years. as a student owned a 1977 corolla, and it was 15 years old. every thing worked and even passed road worthy test every year!

so yes only MADE IN JAPAN ones are good the rest are not worth the money u pay for. i rather buy a mazada 6 than a camary, yes my dear camry sucks that much

  17. if you’re a big enough fan of the brand you’d know what they had been through at the start. they were like the chinese are now***********

RE: incorrect… toyota always made simple but durable cars. chinese are nothing like what toyota was in the 70s

  18. toyota didnt start in the 70s. they started somehwere in the 40s.

  19. and japs used to make aircraft carriers back then to..

  20. i agree, they should change the back as well it’s just terrible
