Audi A1 coming to UAE in 2011
Taking a cue from the Mini Cooper and the Fiat 500, Audi has launched the A1 premium supermini, only without the uniqueness and the history that make the other two legendary.
The engines on offer are ridiculously underpowered, the petrol ones being an 86 hp 1.2-litre and a 122 hp 1.4-litre. Both 4-cylinder turbo motors can be optioned up with a manual or an overdone 7-speed dual-clutch automanual. In true Audi tradition, the A1 is also front-wheel-drive.
Various customisation options will be available, including an MMI multimedia system, 18-inch wheel designs, upholstery colours and other “S Line” accessories.
The girly Audi A1 will have base prices starting at the equivalent of Dhs 80,000 in Europe. It is apparently destined for UAE and GCC markets sometime in 2011. Keep track of future updates in the Audi buyer guide.
