2013 Mercedes-Benz S-Class prototype in Dubai

This prototype Mercedes-Benz was caught refuelling at a petrol station in Dubai. Mercedes-Benz prototypes have become a common fixture on roads in the UAE for hot-weather testing, which is probably a good thing considering how “well” European cars fair in the Middle East climate.

Our reader, Ameen Hassan, sent in these photos. He believes it is the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and it certainly looks like that. No other details are available at this point, except that the new model will have more fuel-efficient engines, likely with extensive use of turbo technology.

Another reader, Pradeep Koppal, caught this shot of the same camouflaged S-Class near the Mercedes-Benz Middle East headquarters in Dubai.

Keep track of updates in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class buyer guide.
