Dubai Police get 2012 Toyota Prado patrol cars

Dubai Police has just put into service a fleet of 35 Toyota Prado 5-door vehicles.

It is nearly impossible to spot a truly basic Toyota Prado in the UAE, but these cars appear to be just that, with their black grilles, mirror housings and door handles, with different wheels and missing the roof rails, though still retaining the fog lamps as part of the police specification.

Engine specs have not been publicly released, but the Prados will likely add to the existing fleet of Toyota Fortuner police cars for now, rather than replacing all of them.

  1. Kinda like this basic one more than the upper trims generally seen !! 🙂

  2. I jus saw them being towed just yesterday…somewhere near Rashidiya

  3. They should keep Prado’s and Pathfinder’s instead of Fortuner’s and Xterra’s 🙂

  4. very good vehicles.

  5. They are fast machines hope will not be used to chase kids on ATVs

  6. Where is Dodge charger???

  7. I think they don’t deserve basic model car’s or SUV’s. They have to spend more than 8 hours continually in them. They must be provided with more than full option car’s or SUV’s.

They are protecting us and they must be satisfied and relaxed while they are on duty.

  8. Qatar police use the new landcruisers and new Nissan Patrol (bright red in colour). They also use the Porsche Panamera and Cayenne (video below).

Qatar has the highest per capita income in the world – so why not.

  9. cosidering de standard of dubai dey should have ATLEAST gone for de land cruiser or patrol…

  10. Ofcorse they deserve better than this. Even Bahrain cops got LC’s, Patrols, Chargers, Merc E class and the recent Avalons.

But then in other countries they got Suzuki gypsies and all , lol
