Porsche is all set to introduce the second generation of their Porsche Cayenne GTS model, based on the latest Cayenne, at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show which is due to begin this month.

Like its predecessor, the latest generation Cayenne GTS is meant to bridge the gap between the Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo. The latest Cayenne GTS concentrates on sporty performance, with a more powerful engine, a tauter chassis with lower ride height and sporty equipment.

The Cayenne GTS’s bonnet conceals an updated 420 hp V8 engine, based on the Cayenne S power unit. Power transmission is handled by an 8-speed Tiptronic S with integrated auto start/stop function.

The GTS is also claimed to hit the 0-100 kph mark in 5.7 seconds and 160 kph in 13.3 seconds. Top speed is rated at 261 kph.

As for the exterior, the SUV maintains its same looks, with the front-end-borrowed from its ‘Turbo’ counterpart. Just a few cosmetic changes are visible, in the form of some new frames and trims in high-gloss black, prominent side skirts and wider wheel arches, as well as a distinctive roof spoiler with twin-wing profile.

The interior sports leather with Alcantara inserts. Additionally front seats with eight adjustment options are also a standard feature in the GTS.

The new Cayenne GTS is currently available for order in the GCC. Deliveries will start by August, this year. The standard GTS has a UAE base price of Dhs 336,500 before options are added.
