Jaguar XJ Ultimate edition debuts for 2013

Jaguar XJ Ultimate edition debuts for 2013

Jaguar has officially unveiled the special-edition XJ Ultimate at the ongoing Beijing Auto Show in China. This is just another indication that China is one of the most sought-after markets for luxury carmakers.

The XJ Ultimate packs in everything a pampered passenger would desire from a super-luxury sedan. Specially crafted, individually-adjustable rear seats separated by an illuminated and leather-trimmed centre console, motorised fold-down tables, chilled champagne bucket and flutes, iPads with keyboards mounted to the backs of the front seats and a 20-speaker Meridian sound system includes some of the in-house features of the XJ.

The entire gear is set in motion by Jaguar’s fire-breathing 510 hp supercharged V8 and is coupled with a new 8-speed automatic transmission. It still is a pity that the owner may not even bother for a ride behind the wheel, but one wouldn’t want to miss out on the smooth ride ensured by the 20-inch wheels and the specially-adjusted suspension.

The Jaguar, although targeted to be sold in the Chinese car market, may also be available to buyers in the Middle East. Around 30 examples, all in black, are also destined to be sold in the United States. The XJ Ultimate is expected to begin its chauffeuring duties in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the rest of GCC by late 2012.

Keep track of updates in the Jaguar XJ buyer guide.

  1. Those rims are the exact (well, close) same as my 2012 Mustang GT’s brushed aluminium 19″ alloys. Pic: http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/553/img20111218132305.jpg
