2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake details and pictures revealed

More details and pictures have been released of the 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake. Only 500 of these reptiles will be made.

Lets jump straight to the performance figures and the Shelby GT500 Super Snake can be had with the standard 5.8-litre supercharged V8 engine delivering 662 hp, and if you feel that’s not enough, a Whipple or Kenne Bell supercharger will be added to jump figures to 850 hp. All that power will be delivered through a six-speed manual transmission with an optional short-throw shifter. A standard GT500 runs 0-100 kph in 3.7 seconds, so with the 850 hp Super Snake, you can expect numbers closer to the 3-second mark.

Of course, all that power needs to be controlled, so forged Shelby/Wildwood brakes with 6 piston fronts and 4 piston rear calipers and cross drilled/vented rotors are installed. A Shelby/Borla exhaust should deliver the noise you want from that aluminium-block v8.

The exterior gets a fibreglass hood with the Shelby Super Snake design, Super Snake vehicle badges and Shelby lettering across the rear deck lid. The interior comes with optional two-tone leather but you can be sure to expect Shelby signatures all over the cockpit.

Prices for the packages are reported to be $29,000 to $40,000 , which is around Dhs 107,000 to 147,000. A few will probably show up on the roads of UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Keep track of the latest updates and prices in the Ford buyer guide.

  1. 107K – 147K? Really?
Isn’t that less than how much you pay for a 2013 Mustang GT 5.0?

  2. lol.. no
this is the price you pay over the price of the gt500 not the mustang 5.0
if it was 100+ K over the base mustang price that would be the price of the shelby

the super snake is a package for the shelby gt500

  3. best keep then to my shelbygt500 only 485hp thats enough unles its warm and dry .traction is a problem but loads of fun
