So we got a 2013 Peugeot 208

There was the 205 that ran from 1983 all the way till 1996. Then there was the 206 in 1998 that was so popular that they kept building it for almost a decade. After that, there was the 207 that no one really noticed. And now for 2013, there is the 208. It was only a matter of time before Peugeot ran out of numbers, so we hear that the 208 name will stay constant from now on. And this new model is a great way to start off the 208 bloodline.

For a fully-optioned French-built car that costs as much as a Mexican-built Nissan Tiida, the Peugeot 208 looks amazingly upscale for the price. The chrome details, the carved badges, and the complex shapes, all make a very attractive little car.

Inside, it’s features galore, with a touchscreen that integrates the stereo, a/c display, phone and trip computer. No other car has that at this price, as far as we know.

It isn’t as spacious as the aforementioned Nissan Tiida, but if you’re driving alone most of the time, it doesn’t really matter. At least the boot is decently sized.

We generally try to avoid testing economy cars, but Peugeot did such a good job of not making it feel like an economy car that we didn’t mind this one at all. More in the full review.

  1. hey Mash,
Will wait for your full review on this. I was checking all round for the review of Peugeot 308 Sportium trim Limited Edition but couldn’t find. I ended up buying it with some confidence from the review you gave on the Pug you owned and sold later to your buddy. Recently bought 308 Sportium Limited Edition so not in a position to give a review. But a review from you will be highly appreciated – And ya, Happy new year 🙂

  2. Thank you Mash!
Great and I read that before going for the 308 Sportium! Anyways mine is 6-speed, 156hp, Turbo Engine. And on the trip computer it is showing now and average of 6.5l/100km. May be driving with a low a/c and in an average speed coz it is new ;). All other things are true as your review.
    Thanks

  3. a question about the steering wheel. its too light to turn like the 207, or they firmed it up?

  4. Hi do you guys recommend Peugeot 308 2013 Sportium? Thanks!
