Lexus has just released the first photos and details about their 2014 GX 460 midsize 4×4. Based on the Toyota Prado, all mechanical bits seem to be carried over unchanged, but it now benefits from more unique new face to replace the older model’s boring front end.

The facelifted model now apes the larger LX 570 more than ever, with its prominent spindle grille, new LED-encrusted HID headlights, restyled tail lamps and reshaped bumpers.

Interior changes are limited to updated trim materials and a new infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen. There’s also an options package that adds perforated leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, a tri-zone climate-control system, 18-inch alloys, adaptive air suspension, blind-spot monitor, “Intuitive Parking Assist” and GPS navigation.

The 2014 GX 460 still retains its 301 hp 4.6-liter V8 engine with 445 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system with a limited-slip torque-sensing centre differential.

Expect the new model to debut in Saudi Arabia, UAE and other GCC countries by the end of the year.
