Nissan Qashqai 2014-2015 gets a complete makeover

Nissan Qashqai 2014-2015 gets a complete makeover

2015 Nissan Qashqai
Sitting between the Juke and the X-Trail, the Qashqai had never really been the pick amongst Nissan’s SUV lineup. But a fresh look for 2014-2015 should put it back on the buyers’ lists, as it receives a heap of cosmetic and technical changes throughout.

Dimensions suggest that the new Qashqai is longer, wider and lower than the outgoing version and hence seems a bit more serious. Yes, the 19-inch alloys certainly aids the cause too.

There are four options when it comes to engine. The current model comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. Whereas, it will be taken over by either a 1.2-litre DIG-T engine producing 113 hp and 190 Nm of torque or a 1.6-litre DIG-T engine producing 148 hp and 240 Nm of torque. Alongside that there will be diesel engines for Europe. The vehicle will be available in front-wheel-drive or four-wheel drive configurations, with either a six-speed manual or a CVT automatic.

The sub-compact SUV also receives the Nissan Safety Shield package comprising of Front Collision Avoidance, Driver Attention Support, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Moving Object Detection, High Beam Assist, Chassis Control, Full LED headlamps, Intelligent Parking Assist, New NissanConnect with smartphone app integration and Around View Monitor.

The new Nissan Qashqai is expected to be released by February 2014 elsewhere. In any case, we’re also not sure whether it will make it to the GCC since it was never popular here, but if it does, expect it to make a mid-2014 entry into the UAE.

Keep track of updates and prices in the Nissan buyer guide.

  1. I have a feeling this one will be popular here..

  2. Looks good from front. The rear, ehh. not so much. But if the size of this model is a much as the previous one then this is going to be a hit.

  3. Is there any update Nissan Xterra redesign?

    • Nissan Xterra will be discontinued unfortunately in 2015, but they will launch a new rugged SUV based on the new Navara pickup platform, think Hilux & Fortuner.

  4. The engines are uninspiring, exterior looks neat.

  5. The interior looks exactly the same as the new x-trail and the exterior dimension looks similar as well.. is this a renamed 2014-2015 x-trail?

    • No Qashqai is in the crossover segment and the new X-trail which looks similar to the new Qashqai is in the Small SUV segment which will compete against Tucson & Sportage.

    • The new Qashqai and the new Xtrail are almost similar including the underpinnings with the exception that Qashqai would be a 5 seater and the Xtrail a bit more longer with 5 + 2 seating. I think only one of them would be made available here

  6. the manual version is alluring.

  7. I am really looking forward for buying it next year…just waiting for the price…

  8. will there be a +2 model (7 seater) for this new Qashqai

  9. Is this very same model released in gcc? Specifically in uae

  10. Nissan Qashqai 2016 coming in UAE for second generation next year.
