Dodge Challenger 2015 debuts at New York Auto Show

2015 dodge challenger 1Hot on the heels of the 2015 Dodge Charger’s dramatic facelift, the 2015 Challenger gets its own retro-esque styling upgrades, a new 6.4-litre Scat Pack and Shaker trims.

With competitors steering away from their respective retro pony-car image, Dodge has decided to head in the opposite direction by enhancing the Challenger with a new split grille, larger hood power bulge and projector lights. The same idea continues to the rear with split LED taillights surrounded by glossy black trim, and a rear valance panel to make the car look wider and lower.

Engines primarily remain the same; with a 305 hp 3.6-litre V6, a 372 hp 5.7-litre V8 and Scat Pack upgraded 6.4-litre V8 that bumps power up by 15 horses to 485 hp that can be optioned with Brembo brakes and 20-inch aluminium wheels. Additionally the 6.4-litre and 5.7-litre model can be optioned with a Shaker trim that adds a functional hood scoop mated to a cold-are intake, Super Track Pak suspension, Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, sports seats and fancy black graphics. Throughout the range, the Challanger can now be optioned with the TorqueFlight 8-speed automatic with a 6-speed manual available for the 5.4-litre and 6.4-litre models. It would seem Chrysler is saving the SRT badge for a more powerful model with a supercharged V8, dubbed the “Hellcat”, in the near future.

The interior gets upgraded with a bit more gadgetry in the form of an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system and 7-inch customization display between the retro-inspired speedometer and tachometer. With a high-sill center aluminium gauge bezels makes the revamped interior extremely pleasing to the eyes. Through the Uconnect interface, you can now access the all-new Dodge performance pages that allows you to select different driving modes to adjust steering effort, engine and transmission response, electronic stability and traction controls, and standard launch control. It can also be optioned with a forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross path detection.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger is slated to begin production in the third quarter of 2014. We assume it will appear in UAE and other GCC showrooms sometime early next year.

  1. I want one….. that grey one …. and I’m sure you too Mash

  2. OMG!!! Its sexy…. my next car 😀

  3. They can’t make it look any better. The only thing to improve is the engine and handling compared to the other two ponies.

    • Muscle Bro The other two Camaro and Mustang Are not muscle cars those 2 are sports car but This Challenger is pure Muscle Car and so this is why it is weak in handling and grip but this 2015 is I am sure will be good in Handling and Grip 😉

    • Being an owner of an 2012 RT Classic, looking at the evolution from the 1970’s look to the 1971 doesn’t make me consider an upgrade. Specially when the power is already reasonable and has barely changed (370hp –> 375hp). Plus, the RT Classic is no longer being offered possibly because they want to appeal to the younger crowd, which makes mine a rarity.

  4. every single thing is perfect … BUT back of both challenger & charger /: ….. not really

  5. The grey one is simply awesome…the tail lights look like the insides of the jam rolls…LoL 😀

  6. Pic No 9. Blue one – Whats that round thing in the front of the bumper grill ?

  7. Is the 8.4 inch screen standard on all trims or is it and upgrade from the basic ?

  8. Looks great. Im usually a tuner guy but this car isn;t half bad.

  9. Rear lights looks kinda shitty, i do prefer the old fashioned rear lights, but i still like the wheels over there as well as the front circular lights <3 ..

  10. This is a beast and if i am not mistaken, the SRT8 will be 6.2 liters V8 supercharged which produces around 700 hp !! i do drive a lumina SS (tuned) produces 550 hp but for such a beauty i will sell my car and go for it !! <3<3

  11. When is the Scat Pack debuting in Kuwait? That option is basically the 392 SRT without the extra stuff that make the SRT version 10000 Dinars more expensive!
