2015 Jaguar XE S 1
Jaguar have revealed the XE in London ahead of its full official debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The XE brings the return for Jaguar in the premium compact sedan segment and will go against the likes of BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

At the moment, Jaguar has revealed pictures and details of only the XE S version. This variant gets a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 under the hood, mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 335 hp and 450 Nm of torque, helping the XE S reach a 0-100 kph time of about 5.1 seconds and hit a electronically limited top speed of 250 kph.

Other engine variants will include 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. More details will be revealed closer to its launch at the Paris Motor Show.

The body structure consists of almost 75% aluminium, making it “strong and light”. The front suspension gets a double wishbone configuration while the rear gets Integral Link suspension. Inside the cockpit, you get a host of technologies such as laser head-up display and a new InControl infotainment system with an 8-inch display screen. The system supports Bluetooth / USB connectivity and Wi-Fi hotspot. Apple and Android smartphone owners can also connect to the car wirelessly and can control settings such as climate control system and door locks through the phone.

The XE will be the first Jaguar to feature their new electric power steering system and new traction control system called “All Surface Progress Control” which adjusts the brakes and powertrain to deliver optimum traction in slippery conditions at speeds between 3.6 kph and 30 kph. Other safety features include traffic sign recognition, reverse traffic detection and an automatic emergency braking system.

Expect the 2015 Jaguar XE to make its way to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries next summer.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the Jaguar XE buyer guide.
