2018 Opel Insignia Country Tourer wagon debuts, coming to UAE

Hot on the heels of Opel’s world premieres of its flagship models, the Insignia Grand Sport and the Insignia Sports Tourer at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the carmaker has announced that there will be a third new variant called the Insignia Country Tourer.

The 250 hp 2.0-litre turbocharged wagon, sharing the engine and mechanicals with its Insignia siblings, is a crossover in the truest sense of the word — a car with a mild lift so it can tackle gravel trails.

Debuting at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the new Opel Insignia Country Tourer is considerably lighter than the outgoing version thanks an all-new architecture. The all-wheel-drive system has torque vectoring, and there is a new five-link rear suspension and 20mm of additional ground clearance.

Owners who prefer an even more individual vehicle can also tailor it thanks to the Opel Exclusive concept, which provides customers with an unlimited choice of exterior paint colours to choose from.

The 2018 Insignia Country Tourer offers a standard active hood pedestrian safety system, adaptive IntelliLux LED matrix headlights, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Park Assist. A more advanced safety package adds Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Automatic Braking.

Expect the Opel Insignia to reach UAE showrooms by the end of the year.
