Sony has always been a familiar brand for all of us. Be it the Walkman, Bravia TVs, Playstations, (former) Vaio laptops or their mobile phones, most of us have had a taste of what the tech giant is capable of at some point in their life. But, as the automotive industry is growing towards a certain electric future, the car is turning into more of a gadget than a mechanical powerhouse. The Japanese company has taken notice of this shift and revealed the Sony Vision-S Concept Car at this year’s CES tech show earlier this month.
Fisker was once a brand that showed the potential to be a trendsetter for electric cars, yet it vanished from the arena, bankrupt. The Fisker Karma was even sold here, and within a year, it was taken off showroom floors, and former owners suggest that remaining stock was used for spare parts. But getting their hands burnt in the EV segment has not seemed to repel Fisker from giving it another shot. Henrik Fisker had tweeted the first teaser of a new electric crossover more than a year ago and now, after a slew of speculations, it is here.
Turkey isn’t usually the first country that comes into mind when we talk about cars. But that may change now, with a new manufacturer taking the limelight. TOGG, short for Türkiye’nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu, recently launched a mid-size crossover prototype along with a concept sedan.
The Lincoln Nautilus is basically the facelifted version of the outgoing MKX. As the Ford-owned American luxury brand steers clear of the ill-conceived “MK-whatever” naming convention that was introduced just a decade ago, proper names are back on the tailgates of Lincoln models, all of which are now taking design cues introduced on the flagship Continental sedan and made familiar with the new Navigator.
Since Hyundai announced the Genesis brand in 2015, their range has always had only luxury sedans. Though the roots of the young brand and the sedan-only lineup were mocked by many, Genesis is still around, honing their products year after year. An SUV was a long time coming. It has been christened Genesis GV80.
Even though it’s been a rule in the UAE for a few years now, Abu Dhabi Police has called on motorists to stop when they see the stop sign display on the side of school buses.
Just a few weeks after Chevrolet revealed the all-new versions of their full-size SUVs, the Tahoe and Suburban, GMC unveiled their all-new 2021 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs along with their upscale Denali variant. Also new is an all-new offroad-oriented AT4 variant.
An all-new 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series will supposedly be revealed in August with a twin-turbocharged hybrid V6 instead of a V8 engine, as per a new report from Japan.
Firstly, my genuine apology to readers out there who have been eager to hear further updates on my 86. Some have poked me a few times via comments on my previous articles and finally gave up, but work life and other commitments held me back from drafting an update.
